a) Pararell programs:-
In the process planning out in old ares with water and sanitation and agricultureal activities to new ones with diffent activities IFSP – intergrated food security program with two components – Agriculture, water and sanitation activities program.

b) Community Sutanability Program:–
IGA's target communities poorer of the poor.

c) Capacity Building and Cross Cutting Issues:–
Mainstreamed in other programs ( Gender and HIV& Aids).

Programme work has been divided in three categories: Consultancy, Special programmes and Intergrated Food Security Programme.

1. Consultancy -   UCCS has been getting consultancy work from Agri – Business Development (ABD) Project-Kitui which is DANIDA funded.

•  UCCS has been appointed by the Athi Water Services Board (AWSB) as a support Organisation- currently UCCS is in the initial stages of establishing three Community Based Organisations in Ndithini Division in Machakos district for possible support.

2. Special programmes- These are programmes that do not fall within UCCS target areas. These are four projects namely:

•  Kako-Kyaluma water and sanitation programme, Kasunguni water and sanitation programme both funded by DANIDA. These are in Makueni District. These are being phased out.

•  Musengo water and sanitation pprogramme funded by Water Services Trust Fund in Kitui District.This is at the initial stages of the implementation.

•  Agribusiness development (ABD) programme -a pilot project on territorial approach, funded by DANIDA in Mutoguni and Chuluni Divisions, Kitui District.

3. Integrated food security Programme

This is a programme that falls within UCCS six-selected Integrated Food Security programme (IFSP) areas. These are Kilome, Mwania, Kikumini, Kyethani, Katikoni and Syomunyu. These are the areas being prepared for phase out by end of next year. These are mainly funded by Bread for the World with the water component funded by SIDA and Christian Aid
