Highlights
a) Agriculture
To identify suitable high value crops for all the regions, amaranth, cashew nuts and macadamia.
Up scaling of the current initiative on the promotion of high value crops.
Improve farming methods through training farmers on new skills.
Collaboration with K.A.R.I and ICRISAT in identifying high value crops for the region.
Working / collaborating with churches in community mobilization.
Work with existing farmers groups and form new ones
b) Health
Verifying the common diseases affecting the population in the region.
Collaborating with the ministry of health.
Train trainers (TOT) within the community.
HIV /AIDS focus will be on prevention targeting different groups.
Train the community on care and support of HIV/AIDS patients.
c) Water program
Carry out a baseline survey to identify the water resources that are available.
Rehabilitation of the wells, springs, earth dams and boreholes.
Rain water harvesting.
Building the communities capacity to take care of their own water resources.
Collaborate with the MOW and MOH.
Construction of wells, boreholes, and piping water.
Collaboration with the water development trust fund.
d) Lobbying and advocacy.
Capacity building for the communities and groups to lobby and advocate for their rights.
Facilitating the formation and strengthening of the existing rights forum in the region.
Collaboration with the church and all like-minded people.
Mapping out for all necessary information on lobbying and advocacy.
c) Marketing strategies
Facilitate formation of producer farmers groups.
Identify organized groups and link them to the market.
Build the capacity of groups to have negotiation powers and to effectively manage their groups.
Carry out research on the existing markets for agricultural products
