•  Modambogho Integrated development program

Pwani CCS was involved in food distribution in the year 2000 where 350 families benefited through food for work strategy. After food distribution, PCCS facilitated the community to address food poverty. Through participatory Rural Appraisal, community action plans were developed of which the community is enthusiastically trying to implement. Although the program is still at its formative stage, the following has been realized:

•  In 2003, the poorest of the poor in Modambogho were mobilized for a pilot small holder poultry project which is currently doing well in addressing food insecurity.

•  The Modambogho community has been mobilized to form a community based organization namely: Nuru Modambogho that aims at implementing the community action plan through collaboration with development agencies

•  Bamba

A.C.K Pwani has been in Bamba since 1997 focusing mainly in provision of water and food security. CRWRC has been supportive in providing access to water through rehabilitation of water pans and creation of new ones, which are currently totaling to 30. Food insecurity has been addressed through the support of Christian Aid and also Foods Resource Bank.

Some of the key achievements are:

•  Access to water has been improved through creation of 30 water pans. This has reduced women's burden of walking for long distances to fetch water consequently, improving on their health, and having more time for food security initiatives and social activities.

•  Food security has improved in the areas through improved farming skills gained during farmers' field schools.

•  Livestock has been improved through piloting of Gala goats and improved chickens

Through community trainings, members have been empowered to spearhead development activities and to engage oppressive systems that perpetuate poverty through lobbying and advocacy.
