Nakuru Region Inter Diocesan Christian Community Service (NRIDCCS) is an Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) organization incorporated in the Republic of Kenya under Companies Act (Cap 486 of the Laws of Kenya). The main purpose of the organization is to promote social and economic development work in the Dioceses of Nakuru and of Nyahururu of the ACK.

HISTORY

The history of the Nakuru Region Inter Diocesan Christian Community Service is closely intertwined with the changes that have taken place in the development approaches used in community-based programmes. The development work in the Diocese was grouped together under the name 'Christian Rural Service' in 1967, which later changed name to 'Christian Rural Extension Service'. In 1982 Christian Community Service (CCS) in Nakuru was formed, with four staff members; namely a Co-ordinator, two field staff and a secretary.
Between 1984 and 1991 there was a focus on the mobilization of community groups to improve agricultural production, community based health care and appropriate technology for water provision. Activities around livestock, environment and HIV/AIDS were later added as priority.
The NRIDCCS has undergone various changes. In 1996 an Organizational Development OD process was conducted which resulted into the formation of Nakuru Region Inter-Diocesan Christian Community Services as a separate legal and autonomous entity with its own Board of Directors but serving the communities of the two dioceses of Nakuru and Nyahururu in 1998. NRIDCCS has been using participatory methodologies e.g. participatory impact monitoring (PIM), Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) Participatory Evaluation Process (PEP) in its interventions to ensure sustainable development.
