The Climatic conditions of the region are determined by altitude range.
The region experience annual rainfall ranging from 400 mm to 2500mm. There are two rainy seasons namely long rains (March to May) and short rains (October to November)
The region is in the high and medium ecological zones with rich soils
Temperatures of the region are generally cool with a mean annual temperature of about 20 ° C. The coldest months are June, July and August and the hottest being January, February and March.
Agricultural Activities:
Cash crop farming which include tea, coffee and macadamia nuts
Food crops include maize beans, potatoes and banana
Livestock farming include rearing of cattle, goats sheep, poultry and pigs
Horticulture includes farming of onions, tomatoes and French beans
Fish farming is also practiced.

Commerce and trade, Industrial activities which include agro processing which encompasses diary, flour milling.
