Purpose of ACK DOSS

The ACK Directorate of Social Services (DOSS) is the National-level organ set up with the purpose of:

“ Spearheading ACK development issues and positive social transformation i.e. leading conceptualization, stirring and steering action ”

Core Values of DOSS

•  Living in harmony with God, humanity, other living creatures and the environment

•  Respect for and use for rights based approaches (all rights shall fall simultaneously with the biblical beliefs of the ACK Church ).

•  Respecting the right and ability of people to shape their own destiny

•  Appreciating self and accepting limitations

•  Recognizing that the church is the Salt and Light of the society

•  Zero tolerance to all forms of discrimination (race, colour, creed, ethnicity, and differently abled persons).

Roles of DOSS

The roles specified for DOSS by the various categories of stakeholders of ACK's social development ministry are:

1. Advocacy on Policies, Justice and Peace at local, national and international levels

2. Coordination and Facilitation of the ACK's Social Development programmes for efficient and effective service delivery

3. Research, documentation and dissemination of information

4. Facilitating resource mobilization, especially local fund development

5. Facilitation of linkages, networking and collaboration

6. Build the capacity of the church in order to carry out holistic ministry.
